we shiped out on the veendam for the trip of a lifetime this from the port in Vancover BC. the trip and the service were wonderful until our last day on the ship. my husband had gotten sick along with several other people . he was quarentined to our stateroom. on the last day of our cruise because we could not go on the rest of the trips that had been planned for us by our by our travel agency i was laying on the bed to take a nap. what the *** else are we going to do when you can't go anywhere. the cleaning crew came in and completely cleaned out our frig which by the way we never touched. they took all the papers out of our room all the blankets,sheets. pillows,pillow cases, coverlets,off of the bed, toilet paper,towels, soap, bathing products out of the bathroom we could not even go to the bathroom with out borrowing the needs from the room next door to us which by the way had not even been touched by the cleaning crew. I will think more than twice about going on a cruise with holland america again. while I fully understand that the need for cleaning the ship is important I don't understand the need to treat paying consumers like they have the black plague.the cleaqning could have wated until we had vacated the stateroom.
